The vast majority of men will suffer from some level of baldness in their life time. Whether it is thinning hair, bald spots, or total baldness almost all men have to deal with it. Now that the average age is getting older in the US this is getting to be a big problem. Women do not prefer men who are bald. This means there is a lot of opportunity for companies to sell hair growth products. THere are three possible treatments to check out if your are bald.

The first one is my favorite hair implants. I like this one because it offers an end to the problem of hair loss. It uses a person’s own hair so there is not a problem with matching. When this method was originated in the middle 1950’s the results were not very good. But with recent changes this is now a very good way to grow hair. Basically hair follicles are removed from one section of the scalp and transplanted to the bald spot. The hair follicles live and grow just like they did in the donor area which looks very natural.

The next method is hair replacement systems. You probably don’t know them by this name. They are also known as toupee’s. The reason for the name change is the word toupee’ has come to be associated with comedy. How many tiems have you watched a movie where the guy loses his hair at inopportune times? The word itself makes a person laugh because of all the funny images. This really hurts the sales of the companies selling hair pieces. Thus they were forced to come up with a different name. These systems are a very inexpensive yet useful way to cover your bald spot. They are very well matched to your hair color and texture. Also, the system to attach them is much better than it used to be. These are a great way to cover up baldness for a small cost.

The third method is the laser comb. I can’t recommend this simply because there have not been scientific studies to prove it works. There is a lot of anecdotal evidence from users about how well it grows hair. But there have been no completed sutdies at this time. The theory seems to make sense. The laser comb heats the scalp which should increase blood flow. Male pattern baldness is caused by a decrease in blood flow to the hair follicles. So it may work, we are just waiting for substantiation.

These are methods used to help re-grow hair. If you are going bald you definitely want to do something because baldness causes a man to look much older than he really is. Check out these options and see if any is right for you.
