Female Hair Loss is a Distressing Problem
For men, the loss of hair and the process of going bald are almost a fact of life. Almost all males will experience these conditions at some time or another. However, hair loss in women isn’t considered to be such a regular occurrence. But it can indeed happen to them. Almost half of all women will have an issue with loss of hair somewhere during their lives.
For women, the condition is especially disturbing. A woman’s hair is often central to her appearance and self image. If you start to lose your hair, the resulting situation can be hard to cope with, both psychologically and physiologically.
Research is ongoing to discover the reasons for female hair loss, and what can be done about the problem. However, there is already a pretty good understanding of some of the reasons for this condition. Among the most typical reasons are the shifting hormones that either menopause or pregnancy can bring about. Starting or stopping the use of birth control pills is a possible contributor to the problem. Illness and severe stress are other triggers. It can also be a genetic condition.
Your best approach to dealing with female hair loss is to first learn what you can about the growth patterns of normal, healthy hair. Then you need to take steps to encourage a head full of stronger and more abundant hair. Be aware, however, that hair loss in women can sometimes be just a temporary problem. Sometimes it goes away on its own when your hormones stabilize. But if it’s a chronic problem, there are several ways to prevent this condition.
For example, there are hair treatments in the form of shampoo or other topical preparations. These have shown promising success at managing hair loss by stimulating hair growth. Watching what you eat is one more critical consideration. Make sure you’re eating sufficient quantities of proteins. In addition, it’s highly important to get sufficient quantities of specific nutrients in order to maintain proper hair growth.
Regularly massaging the roots of your hair is also beneficial. As is frequent and thorough shampooing of your hair. Using conditioner on your hair can provide the follicles with essential nutrients. This will also help to stimulate growth and improve the quantity and quality of your hair.
Before you can start trying to manage your hair loss, you need to have a good understanding of the problem. In your quest for a solution, you might need to experiment with a few different treatment options before you have success. And you should certainly consult with your doctor, who can rule out any medical causes. They can recommend a suitable course of treatment and even suggest a prescription solution.
